Just in Love

Terribly expensive yarn this is.
Can´t remember brand - but I bought it at Close Knit in Wyckoff , NJ.
It was unresitable and begged to go home with me.
Well okey. I fell in love. One skein. was winded up into two smaller balls.
One ball became this scarf ( which I am not using very much)
The second one is still filled with dreams of what to become.
I am thinking of frogging the scarf and make ONE a bit bigger of all of it.
Well,,,,,,, I´m just thinkin`

Danish strawberries.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Soooooooooooo sweet.

All the spring I ´ve been looking for silver shoes.
But not just any silver shoe. It had to be just right and perfect.
Both in style and comfort.

I love them and they will be perfect with that white dress I bought 2 months ago- it has this little silver flowers on it.
Just perfect.
Well. This is it for tonight.
I will knit something new, hi,hi.hi..... because I am alowed to..

In Yarn Heaven

........... for 1½ hr.
I was visiting Felisis blog earlier this morning and she made it clear to all of us that she only will have one UFO - the one she is knitting on.
I on the other hand have had 7 or 8 UFO´s in the early years-
Now I decided to let my self have 3 or 4 objects in progress.
That works for me because then I have different things to work on ,during different times.
I also decided that to day was the day to take a closer look at my yarn boxes-
6 very big bedrollers and 4 smaller boxes and 3 bags filled.
Alot of dust so I had to clean the top and while emtying it I might as well clean it inside as well.
I had yarn everywhere. I keep them in a lace weight box, chunky and so on-- it was very mixed.
I also decided to throw away useless small balls ( I know.. it was hard)- and single chunky stuff only 25 gr or so..
I will never use it to anything. OUT !

This is a baby dress I started waaaaay back in -07. I am preeeetty sure I will not finish this..
I will toss it. Bye, bye
This was ment to be a top / T-shirt kind of thing.
Pretty unusual, because it was made in a spiral- so all I had to do was knit 4rows of knit and 4 rows of purling.
Amazingly boring if you ask me and doomed to be a UFO( - 05)
The yarn is Isager wool. on needle 3mm.
The yarn is coloured by myself in the colour flip I had in -05
I decided to close it and let it be a scarf.
It meacures 140 cm- streched 170cm.
Enough for a scarf.
These are the sad left overs to throw out.
Yes! Throw away and out.
Bits and peaces of different weights. small balls
and:
1kg and 200 gr of Kathmandu.
That I don´t know what to do with.
The colours are great. A tweed effect yarn, it is actually a mix of wool, silk and cashmere!!!
The thing is this is probably the worst yarn EVER that I bought( on sale) .
It is absolutly horrifying to knit with. The work turns out flat and lifeless/boring.
It is not good to knit with eather.. It get stuck in the stiches if you know what I mean.
Absolutly useless.
600gr of this deep purple red.
400 of deep green
200 of tile green.
It should be forbidden to make yarn like this. To look so Jummy and delicious.
I think it is the silk in it that makes it that awful.
Have not decided what to do with it yet. Give it away maybe.
And why is it that I can´t throw away this little ball of sock yarn?
I have 100 gr left - wouldn´t it be horrifying if I made a pair of socks and I ended up not finishing them because I ran out of yarn?
That´s why.

How many hours......

of day light do I need?
Alot more than 18. Before I know it its night and time for bed. I need more hours!!
Fighthing the hours of daylight
Among preparing for next school yearI am knitting at three projects. The re-mix version of Mini is the one I want to knit.
Shetland was with me to Norway during the week-end , but did I knit? Nope!! Busy doing other stuff and the babydress Clara is aaaaaaalmooooost there- "just" the top left.
And yet other projects wants my attention. Those in my mind, those I want to knit ( maybe) or the yarn I want to knit with ( rather) and thumbling around for a suitable project for that perticular yarn.

I guess I finish the dress first and then while finishing it , I´ll think of what to bring as my vacation knit.
Knowing my self I´ll bring at least one sock project :-)
Was thinking of a shawl ( again) in a carcoalgreay loopi ( in a very fine lace weight)- after all:
after summer there is fall and what would be more perfect to warm up with a new shawl?
Melody Grand Prix
A European song contest once a year.
I bought the cd and it turns out to have more quality over it than I expected.
Several great( and mature.... if I can use that word) songs from a very young artist ( I believe only 23)
He both composed the music and wrote the lyrics to the winner song and this cd , with the same name, Fairytale.

Gavstrik came in mail before week-end and gave me something to read while flying north.
I am speculating in not being a member next year.
Been a member since 2004- but the last 3 years I had not attended any meetings. And the magazine is 4 times a year, but rather skinny on what I need to my knitty brain.
More a historic magazine and what´s happening in Scandinavia knitwise.

Family photos
Some of you may remember I took my kids to a fotographer in Copenhagen ( FAME)
and had a great time taking pic. of us all.
I finally got my self around to pick up the pic. Since I don´t pass Copenhagen accoationally I had to make the trip in to the city.
I was on my way anyway to the airport last friday and a 1 hr. earlier train would make time enough to pick up the pic.
PS: it rained cats and dogs that day. No busses, no cabs- only my legs and a 20 min. walk back and forth from Copenhagen trainstation to Fame. It was WET. I have never seen so meny wrecked umbrellas in every dustbin all the way down STRØGET.
Now comes the big job selecting a few for my parents birthday present.

I am very pleased with them.
We ( me and D) decided to pick some in black/white and some color.
I always fancied B/W.
I´ll have to make a choise to night. time is running out.
Next Friday is last day at school and I´ll be going away for some weeks .
